A two-day Free Medical Camp in Chachro, Tharparkar, organised by OIC-COMSTECH in partnership with the University of Modern Sciences, treated a total of 5,712 patients and delivered vital healthcare services to one of Sindh\u2019s most underserved communities. The camp attracted a strong turnout with 2,162 patients on the first day and 3,550 on the second, underscoring the urgent demand for accessible care in the region.<\/p>\n
Specialist teams provided free consultations across multiple disciplines including ophthalmology, ENT, dermatology, cardiology, gastroenterology, gynaecology, general surgery and general medicine. On-the-spot diagnostic facilities were available throughout the camp, enabling timely assessments and immediate treatment. The medical teams also assisted in two successful deliveries, highlighting the camp\u2019s role in supporting maternal and child health where services are often limited.<\/p>\n
Beyond clinical care, organisers distributed mineral water, juices, clothes, shoes and other essentials to patients and attendants, offering practical relief to families travelling from remote communities. The Free Medical Camp combined clinical outreach with humanitarian support to address both health and basic needs during the two-day operation.<\/p>\n
The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Gourmet Foods, the District Administration Tharparkar and the District Health Department of the Government of Sindh. Under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary<\/strong>, Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH, Chachro was prioritised for this intervention to promote health awareness and strengthen primary care access in the area.<\/p>\n At the close of the camp, COMSTECH representatives handed over extra medicines to the Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Chachro-Tharparkar to support continuity of care for patients after the event.
