Organised by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination with the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, provincial tourism departments and a range of public and private partners, the Tourism Festival drew a broad cross-section of visitors from the capital and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>Day two centred on community sports with a fun marathon and a four-kilometre cycling event that attracted enthusiastic participants from all walks of life. Winners of both competitions received cash prizes of Rs 10,000, a gesture aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyles and strengthening community engagement through sport. The competitive spirit and the large turnout underscored the event&#8217;s success in promoting active family participation.<\/p>\n<p>The festival offered a vibrant mix of attractions including tourism stalls, live cooking demonstrations, family and children\u2019s activities, cultural exhibitions and provincial tourism pavilions. Visitors enjoyed live cultural performances, a painting competition, display by an army band, wall rock climbing, an adventure base camp, street curling, paragliding, hot air ballooning and a vintage car show, all contributing to a lively atmosphere at the Tourism Festival.<\/p>\n<p>In the evening the crowd gathered for regional musical performances that celebrated Pakistan\u2019s cultural tapestry, and the festivities culminated in a grand concert followed by a spectacular fireworks display that lit up the capital\u2019s skies. The impressive closing moments drew a large audience and highlighted the event\u2019s popular appeal.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Minister for Railways <strong>Haneef Abbasi<\/strong> attended the closing ceremony and praised the efforts of <strong>Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan<\/strong> and the PTDC team for organising the city\u2019s first large-scale tourism and family sports event under government directions. <strong>Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan<\/strong> noted that the Tourism Festival demonstrated Pakistan\u2019s potential as a family-friendly and welcoming tourism destination, while <strong>Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani<\/strong>, Secretary IPC, emphasised the role of inter-ministerial coordination and stakeholder collaboration in delivering the successful event. <strong>Aftab-ur-Rehman Rana<\/strong>, Managing Director PTDC, welcomed the overwhelming public response and said the turnout reflects growing interest in tourism-led recreational initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>The Pakistan Tourism, Sports &#038; Family Festival 2026 closed on a celebratory note, leaving a strong message of unity, cultural harmony, sportsmanship and renewed focus on domestic tourism.
