Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, Barrister Danyal Chaudhry, led tributes to district officials and health teams as Rawalpindi marked a major public health turnaround at a Celebration of Success held at PC Rawalpindi.<\/p>\n
The district recorded a striking dengue reduction, dropping from 6,606 reported cases in 2024 to just 1,586 in 2025. Officials attributed the improvement to sustained anti-dengue campaigns, community mobilization, intensified vector control, and persistent field work by sanitation and health teams across the district.<\/p>\n
Barrister Danyal praised the coordinated effort and frontline commitment, saying ‘This victory belongs to the sanitation workers who drained stagnant water under the scorching sun, to the health teams who went door to door educating families, and to an administration that made public health its highest priority’. The emphasis on timely response and public awareness played a central role in delivering measurable Dengue Reduction.<\/p>\n
The event also celebrated Rawalpindi’s 15 consecutive years of remaining polio free, a milestone achieved through consistent immunization drives and community cooperation. The district has now recorded five consecutive immunization campaigns with 100 percent LQAS results, setting a national benchmark for vaccination coverage and operational quality.<\/p>\n
Looking ahead, Barrister Danyal urged stakeholders to build on this momentum by intensifying prevention measures, maintaining high vaccination standards and aiming for complete elimination of dengue while safeguarding the polio-free legacy.
