Immediate corrective measures were instructed to restore reliable service and compliance.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Zia stressed strict waste segregation at the source and reiterated the need to follow the established color-coding system to minimise cross-contamination and improve handling efficiency. Technical specifications for plastic bags used for infectious waste collection were reviewed and updated to require standard, leak-proof and colour-coded materials that meet safety requirements.<\/p>\n<p>The Federal Directorate of Immunization committed to organising training programmes on proper waste handling and infection control for healthcare staff and waste handlers to strengthen on-site practices.
