{"id":17205,"date":"2026-02-24T19:20:14","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T19:20:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.peakpoint.pk\/en\/2026\/02\/24\/accelerating-out-of-school-children-enrolment-islamabad\/"},"modified":"2026-02-24T19:20:14","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T19:20:14","slug":"accelerating-out-of-school-children-enrolment-islamabad","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.peakpoint.pk\/en\/2026\/02\/24\/accelerating-out-of-school-children-enrolment-islamabad\/","title":{"rendered":"Accelerating Out-of-School Children Enrolment in Islamabad"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 23 February 2026 the Federal Steering Committee of ICT on Out-of-School Children held its inaugural meeting at the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training in Islamabad, chaired by <strong>Federal Secretary Nadeem Mahbub<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee set the direction for implementing the Federal Action Plan for OOSC 2025\u20132030 across Islamabad Capital Territory, prioritising faster enrolment, stronger retention and tighter coordination across institutions to reach out-of-school children more effectively.<\/p>\n<p>Members reviewed an immediate rollout package that includes GIS-based hotspot mapping, a comprehensive household survey covering all urban and rural Union Councils, UC-wise micro-plans and integration of these inputs into the NFEMIS live dashboard for real-time tracking and quarterly progress reviews to accelerate identification and outreach to out-of-school children.<\/p>\n<p>The Committee brings together notified representatives from the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, the Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, and the ICT Administration, alongside education delivery institutions and the private education regulator.
