Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi has been accepted into the United Nations Climate Change Universities Partnership Programme, opening new avenues for climate-focused research and education. The university’s membership in the UN Climate Partnership connects faculty and students with global experts to tackle region-specific climate challenges.<\/p>\n
Under this collaboration, a selected team of students will carry out supervised research on climate change impacts, adaptation strategies<\/em>, and sustainable solutions tailored to Pakistan and the broader South Asian region. The programme is designed to strengthen technical, analytical, and policy-oriented research skills while ensuring projects remain relevant to local agricultural and environmental needs.<\/p>\n Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman<\/strong>, Vice Chancellor PMAS-AAUR, said the university is proud to join the initiative and expects the partnership to accelerate work on sustainable agriculture, renewable energy adoption, and climate-resilient farming practices in arid and semi-arid zones.
