A review meeting at CDA Headquarters on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Muhammad Ali Randhawa<\/strong>, Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, examined progress on major infrastructure initiatives across the Federal Capital. The session included Member Administration and Estate Talat Mehmood, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Planning & Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz and senior directors and project officials, who outlined current milestones and next steps for ongoing works that shape Islamabad development.<\/p>\n

Officials reported that the tendering process for the Kashmir Chowk Underpass is nearing completion and consultant appointments are underway. Muhammad Ali Randhawa<\/strong> directed strict adherence to announced timelines and emphasized that the Kashmir Chowk Underpass must proceed without delay to improve traffic flow and connectivity in the city.<\/p>\n

The meeting reviewed the extension of Margalla Avenue from N-5 to M-1 within ICT limits, where tender finalization is in its closing stages. Authorities confirmed the work award will be issued shortly and a groundbreaking ceremony scheduled soon. Under this Islamabad development project, construction will include one loop and two underpasses to enhance capacity and reduce congestion on key corridors.<\/p>\n

Detailed discussion on widening Attaturk Avenue focused on permanent street lighting, installation of digital display boards, comprehensive horticulture and landscaping, and the addition of a dedicated cycle track. The chairman stressed that these enhancements must combine visual improvement with durable construction standards.<\/p>\n

In a move to strengthen environmental safeguards, the chairman directed that an Environmental Impact Assessment be mandatory for all development projects, ensuring that Islamabad development proceeds with required environmental checks and mitigation measures in place.<\/p>\n

Design work for the Model Graveyard Pandorian has been finalized, with plans for a boundary wall, spacious parking, administrative offices, ablution facilities, a funeral hall, a mosque and electric hearses. The meeting approved expansion of the access road from Lehtrar Road, widening of the main internal road, guaranteed access from Park Road as well as Lehtrar Road, and construction of alternative parking to accommodate visitors.<\/p>\n

For the Islamabad Expressway Service Road East, officials stated the route will extend approximately 9.5 kilometres and that the process to appoint a project consultant has commenced. Timely consultant selection was highlighted as essential to keep construction schedules on track.<\/p>\n

Muhammad Ali Randhawa<\/strong> directed the submission of firm timelines for the early start of construction on all projects and warned that delays will not be tolerated.
