Bannu: Two separate sabotage attempts were foiled in Bannu, saving the city from a major disaster. The Bomb Disposal Unit defused explosive materials at two different locations.
\nAccording to details, the police in Bannu acted promptly and neutralized explosive materials found at two separate places.
\nThe first incident occurred near the jurisdiction of Kakki Police Station, where police received information about suspicious explosive material inside a bag. According to sources, wires were also attached to the bag, after which the Bomb Disposal Squad was immediately called to the scene. The BDS team arrived and, using professional expertise, safely defused the explosive material.
\nThe second incident took place on Bannu\u2013Miranshah Road, under the Saidra Tube Well bridge, where information was received about explosive material placed at the site. As soon as the report was received, Bakakhel Police Station personnel cordoned off the area and called the Bomb Disposal Squad. The BDS team carried out the operation and safely defused the explosives, thereby preventing a major disaster in the area.
\nDue to the timely actions of the police, a potentially large loss was averted. Investigations at both locations are currently ongoing.
\nAccording to DPO Yasir Afridi, during this wave of terrorism it is very important for the public to remain vigilant. Wherever any suspicious object is noticed, the police should be informed immediately.
