FG Polo produced a late surge to defeat Master Paints\/Diamond Paints 10-8 and claim the 63rd Allied Bank National Open Quaid e Azam Cup at Lahore Polo Club before a large and enthusiastic crowd. The final was tightly contested throughout, with the match decided in the closing chukker as FG Polo pulled ahead to secure the victory.<\/p>\n
Raja Mikayial Sami led the winners with an impressive five goals, while Raul Laplacette added three and Marcos Rivarola and Amin Rahman Fazal contributed one goal each. For Master Paints\/Diamond Paints, Facundo Retamar Carnero netted four goals, Amirreza Behbudi struck three and Raja Temur Nadeem scored one. The 10-8 scoreline reflected a high-quality contest between two well-matched sides.<\/p>\n
The final was attended by Federal Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar as chief guest, and Allied Bank Limited Group Head CRBG Hasnain Raza Mirza. Malik Azam Hayat Noon, president of Lahore Polo Club, joined executive committee members Feroz Gulzar and Raja Amir and Club Secretary Maj (R) Amjad Ghafoor on the pavilion as families, former players and polo fans filled the stands to witness the Quaid e Azam Cup decider.<\/p>\n
Individual honours recognised outstanding contributions on and off the field. Raja Mikayial Sami was named best Pakistani player, while Facundo Retamar earned best foreign player and finished as the tournament’s top scorer. The best pony of the final was the mare Mandi Bola, owned by Abbas Mukhtar. Prize presentations included trophies and cash awards, and players performed the traditional tent-pegging demonstration as part of the closing ceremony.<\/p>\n
During the awards ceremony the club also acknowledged its staff with annual recognitions. Cash awards and trophies were presented to Admin Manager Muhammad Faisal, Polo Manager Muhammad Imran, Accounts Manager Muhammad Irfan, Club Secretary Maj (R) Amjad Ghafoor, Security In-Charge Muhammad Arif, Veterinary Doctor Dr. Hassan Siddiq, Head Groundsman Muhammad Khalid, Deputy Head Groundsman Muhammad Ali, Riding School Instructor Munawar Iqbal, Head Office Boy Muhammad Iqbal and Caretaker Khizar Hayat in appreciation of their services to Lahore Polo Club.<\/p>\n
The Quaid e Azam Cup remains Pakistan’s premier polo competition, drawing top national and international players each year.
