The Federal Investigation Agency, together with the International Centre for Migration Policy Development, convened a two-day consultation workshop in Islamabad to prepare a National Awareness-Raising Campaign aimed at countering fake job advertisements. The workshop focused on coordinated messaging, outreach channels and material development to protect potential migrants from fraudulent online recruitment.<\/p>\n
Participants included senior representatives from national institutions such as the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development<\/strong>, Bureau of Emigration & Overseas Employment<\/strong>, Overseas Employment Corporation<\/strong>, Ministry of Interior<\/strong>, NCCIA<\/strong>, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting<\/strong>, PEMRA<\/strong>, National Printing Bureau<\/strong>, Islamabad Police<\/strong>, National CERT Pakistan<\/strong>, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority<\/strong> and the Migrant Resource Centre Pakistan<\/strong>. The process was guided by national awareness-raising expert Qaiser Siddiqui<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Agencies such as the PTA<\/strong>, National CERT<\/strong>, FIA<\/strong>, NCCIA<\/strong> and regional migrant resource centres presented their current awareness efforts, sharing insights on how they address fake job advertisements within their mandates. These presentations helped map existing approaches, refine core messages and identify the most effective channels for outreach to vulnerable communities across Pakistan.<\/p>\n Interactive group exercises enabled participants to assess existing information, education and communication materials, identify gaps and overlaps, and develop practical recommendations. The collaborative sessions culminated in presentations and constructive discussions that strengthened inter-agency coordination and laid the groundwork for the imminent national campaign rollout.<\/p>\n The initiative is part of the FJA-PAK<\/strong> project, funded by the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) and implemented by ICMPD<\/strong>, which seeks to prevent fraudulent online recruitment and related cyber activities that facilitate irregular migration and trafficking in human beings.
