The site near Zia Mosque was auctioned for <strong>Rs50 million<\/strong>, the Sultana Foundation location for <strong>Rs25 million<\/strong>, Japan Road for <strong>Rs6.2 million<\/strong> and Bahar A Kahu for <strong>Rs6.1 million<\/strong>, bringing the total to <strong>Rs349.5 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said the auction process was conducted on merit and with full transparency, and attracted vigorous participation from <strong>104 bidders<\/strong>. Authorities also reported about a <strong>120 percent<\/strong> increase in auction proceeds compared with the previous year, reflecting growing competition for designated market sites.<\/p>\n<p>The District Municipal Administration has been instructed to maintain close surveillance to prevent illegal cattle markets across the city, while the Capital Development Authority under Chief Commissioner Sohail Ashraf has pledged strict enforcement of a zero tolerance policy against unauthorised markets.
