{"id":18349,"date":"2026-04-27T10:53:03","date_gmt":"2026-04-27T10:53:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.peakpoint.pk\/en\/2026\/04\/27\/advancing-gggi-pakistan\/"},"modified":"2026-04-27T10:53:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-27T10:53:03","slug":"advancing-gggi-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.peakpoint.pk\/en\/2026\/04\/27\/advancing-gggi-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"Advancing GGGI Pakistan Collaboration for Climate Finance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Islamabad, 27 April 2026 \u2014 Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination <strong>Dr. Musadik Malik<\/strong> met with <strong>Ms. Laura Jalosjoki<\/strong>, Country Representative for Nepal and Pakistan of the Global Green Growth Institute, to discuss ways GGGI can support Pakistan\u2019s green growth agenda.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Jalosjoki briefed the minister on how <em>GGGI Pakistan<\/em> can assist in strategic planning and in developing institutional and financial frameworks to access climate financing, drawing on GGGI\u2019s global experience aligning sustainable development with economic growth and climate resilience.<\/p>\n<p>The pair reviewed the Pakistan Country Program 2024\u20132028 and explored priority areas for collaboration, including enhancing private sector engagement to mobilise climate finance, strengthening agriculture value chains, improving energy efficiency through <em>AI-enabled Monitoring, Reporting and Verification<\/em> systems, unlocking investment and market development in agriculture, and catalysing innovation through startup ecosystems tailored to Pakistan\u2019s context.<\/p>\n<p>Discussion also covered the Global Clean Hydrogen Program, a potential initiative for Pakistan designed to build hydrogen-related capacity and institutional readiness to support a net-zero transition.
