In Islamabad, Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Malik met with Mr. Ma Jun, President of the Institute of Finance and Sustainability of China, to discuss deepening cooperation on Green Finance and technology transfer.<\/p>\n
Mr. Ma Jun outlined China\u2019s Green Accelerator initiative launched in 2016, noting it began with 35 policy recommendations brought together into a single framework. He described how China has built the world\u2019s largest green financing mechanism, estimated at around USD 7 trillion, and highlighted China\u2019s dominant role in clean energy manufacturing, producing about 70 percent of global wind and solar equipment and nearly 60 percent of electric vehicles.<\/p>\n
At the heart of the Green Accelerator approach is the aim to make projects bankable by combining technology, finance, carbon markets and project design. Mr. Ma Jun shared practical examples of scalable solutions, including biochar production from jute sticks in Bangladesh, intelligent precision irrigation projects applied in China and Uzbekistan, and sustainable desert agriculture initiatives in Abu Dhabi, stressing the need to adapt innovations to local conditions while maintaining financial viability.<\/p>\n
Dr. Musadik Malik briefed Mr. Ma Jun on the ministry\u2019s under-process programme Green Fields, a platform designed to link young Pakistani entrepreneurs working on green ventures with national and international investors. The Green Fields initiative is intended to foster green entrepreneurship, create investment-ready projects and provide youth with pathways into Pakistan\u2019s emerging sustainable economy.<\/p>\n
The meeting underscored the importance of international partnerships to scale practical climate solutions and accelerate Pakistan\u2019s transition toward a greener economy.
