The National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence has credited the Prime Minister and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for playing a pivotal diplomatic role in mediation between the United States and Iran, saying timely Pakistan mediation helped avert a potential global conflict and strengthened the country’s standing as a responsible, peace-seeking state.<\/p>\n
Chaired by MNA Fateh Ullah Khan at Parliament House, the committee described the intervention as a major diplomatic achievement that contributed to international peace and stability at a critical moment. Members commended the statesmanship of the Prime Minister and the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, noting that Pakistan mediation reinforced Pakistan’s commitment to regional and global stability.<\/p>\n
The committee also paid tribute to the Armed Forces for the historic victories of Marka-e-Haq and Bunyan-ul-Marsoos, saying these successes reflect courage, resilience and strategic resolve and elevate Pakistan’s defence credentials internationally. In a solemn tribute members honoured the martyrs of the Armed Forces and offered prayers for their families, acknowledging their sacrifices as the foundation of national security.<\/p>\n
Parliamentarians unanimously recommended passage of the Pakistan Airports Authority Amendment Bill, underlining its national importance for modernising aviation infrastructure, improving regulatory oversight and enhancing global connectivity to support economic development. The meeting was attended by MNAs Ibrar Ahmad, Daniyal Ahmed, Saba Sadiq, Dr Sharmila Faruqi, Sanjay Parwani, Gul Asghar Khan, Muhammad Ijaz ul Haq and Parliamentary Secretary Raja Osama Sarwar, with Secretary Defence Lieutenant General (retired) Muhammad Ali and senior officials from the ministries of Defence, Planning and Development and Finance also present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
