The Vice Chancellor of the University of Science and Technology Bannu, Professor Dr. Jahanzeb, said the curriculum must be redesigned so that graduates do not depend solely on government jobs but can stand on their own feet and support their families economically. At Bannu University he urged stronger links with industry to produce work-ready graduates capable of contributing to local and national economic stability.<\/p>\n
Dr. Jahanzeb shared these views at a special steering committee meeting held to mark the signing of an MoU<\/strong> with the Chamber of Commerce and Industries. The meeting brought together university leadership and business representatives to formalize cooperation aimed at aligning academic programs with market needs and promoting student entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n Those present included Dean Professor Dr. Sultan Mahmood, Dr. Afzal Shah, Professor Dr. Hidayatullah Khan, President of the Chamber of Commerce Malik Khalid Khan, Secretary Ghulam Qibaz Khan Qureshi, Dr. Shazia, President of Industries Abdul Quddus, General Secretary Naeem Hayat, Media Advisor Abdul Salam Baitab, and Pir Noor Muhammad Shah. Shahid Qureshi joined from Karachi while Saeema Mehboob participated online from the Sarhad Chamber, Peshawar.<\/p>\n The Vice Chancellor emphasized efforts to engage students in research and to promote their work through the business community, a step he said will benefit both industry and the university. By linking research outcomes to commercial opportunities the university aims to ease financial pressures and increase its resource base while giving students practical pathways to employment and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n To bring the strategy into practice, Bannu University has already signed agreements with the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce, MTI Bannu, Qureshi Dawakhana, and the Peshawar Industrial Zone, and plans are underway to finalize a partnership with Khatar Industries. Dr. Jahanzeb noted that students are talented but require structured opportunities, and these partnerships will create a platform for mutual support in the development journey.<\/p>\n The steering committee will continue regular meetings to share ideas and coordinate initiatives.
