Speaking at a special lecture on the Emerging Middle East and the Zionist‑Hindutva nexus organised by the International Parliamentarians Congress in collaboration with PAIDAR, he said Palestinians appreciate Pakistan for raising their cause at international forums.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed and Senator Sitara Ayaz jointly hosted the event and shared their perspectives on Pakistan’s long-standing policy that Kashmir and Palestine form part of the national consciousness. Mushahid recalled the founder’s early stance, citing Quaid‑e‑Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s 13 December 1947 letter to President Harry Truman questioning the legality of the Israeli state, and reiterated Pakistan’s position that Israel is not acceptable as an illegitimate entity.

Speakers highlighted Pakistan’s historical involvement in support of Arab states during regional conflicts, noting Pakistani pilots flew for Jordan and Iraq in 1967 and for Syria and Egypt in 1973. They argued that Pakistan’s nuclear deterrent has acted as a bulwark against external designs and described the Pakistani nuclear programme as one of the few survivals of past attempts to neutralise Muslim state power.

Hamid Mir criticised the alignment of Israeli and Indian political agendas and labelled the partnership between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as mutually reinforcing drives of Hindutva and Zionism, a view he said attracts growing domestic criticism in both countries.

Professor Al‑Arian analysed evolving geopolitical realities, warning that recent moves to normalise relations with Israel have been repeatedly checked by popular sentiment in Pakistan. He urged civil society to remain vocal against what he described as the global threat of Zionism and proposed dismantling the ideology he believes fuels regional instability.

Mushahid pointed to attempts over the past two decades to recognise Israel, saying such initiatives were thwarted by strong public and institutional resistance across Pakistan. He emphasised the shared emotional and political connection between Kashmir and Palestine, calling them integral to the Pakistani identity and policy outlook.

The speakers also drew attention to Iran’s role and the consequences of its regional posture, saying Iran has been targeted because of its support for Palestine and its broader resistance to aggression. They urged Muslim governments to abandon double standards and unite against the perceived Hindutva‑Zionist nexus.

The lecture drew diplomats, retired senior officers, parliamentarians and civil society leaders, including Hurriyat figures Ghulam Mohammad Safi and Hameed Lone, Additional Foreign Secretary Ambassador Hamid Asghar Khan, Ambassador Khalid Mahmood, Ambassador Sarwar Naqvi and senior retired generals. Participants discussed Pakistan Palestine solidarity and the need for coordinated regional responses to prevent further escalation.

Pakistan Palestine solidarity reaffirmed as Prof Sami Al-Arian and Pakistani leaders call for Muslim unity against the Hindutva-Zionist nexus and regional escalation.

[94

post-19054","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan
["GET
