Mastercard has published its first Cyber Pulse report, offering a detailed view of the shifting cyber threat landscape across Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa over the past year. The analysis combines regional threat intelligence from Mastercard’s Cyber Insights platform with organisation-level assessments from RiskRecon and draws on advanced intelligence from Recorded Future<\/em>, acquired by Mastercard in December 2024.<\/p>\n

The report gives clarity on how threats translate into real business impact and stresses that strong Digital Resilience<\/strong> is essential for operational continuity and maintaining trust in the digital economy.<\/p>\n

Global research cited in the report highlights the scale of the risk: the IBM cost of a data breach report 2025 estimates the average cost of a breach in the Middle East at nearly US$7.29 million per incident, 64% above the global average. For Pakistani companies and public institutions this reinforces why cyber resilience must be a leadership and board-level priority.<\/p>\n

Mastercard’s findings note a rise in cybercrime across the region in early 2026 following a period of geopolitical instability, with financially motivated and disruptive activity making up 71% of observed incidents across EEMEA. The report urges organisations to move beyond awareness to sustained cyber readiness and resilience to reduce operational and economic disruption.<\/p>\n
