At PMAS\u2011AAUR, Arid University and DHA Islamabad\u2011Rawalpindi formalized a memorandum of understanding to work together on horticulture, sustainable landscaping, orchard development and community green initiatives across Islamabad\u2011Rawalpindi. The Arid University DHA collaboration is designed to turn academic research into visible improvements in urban green spaces and local agricultural practices.<\/p>\n
Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman<\/strong>, Vice Chancellor of PMAS\u2011AAUR, said the partnership reflects the university’s commitment to applying scientific knowledge for social benefit. He noted the agreement will create practical learning opportunities for students, strengthen applied research, and raise public awareness about modern horticultural techniques.<\/p>\n The two institutions will collaborate on establishing fruit orchards and enhancing landscaping within DHA Islamabad\u2011Rawalpindi sectors, while jointly organizing fruit galas to showcase local produce and encourage community participation. These events will promote healthy eating, stimulate local markets and highlight sustainable cultivation methods adapted to the region.<\/p>\n The arrangement is expected to enable knowledge exchange, capacity building and the adoption of contemporary horticultural technologies by combining Arid University’s research expertise with DHA Islamabad\u2011Rawalpindi’s community infrastructure. The formal signing at PMAS\u2011AAUR was completed by Prof. Dr. Qamar-uz-Zaman<\/strong> and Brig.
