ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad Ameer Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa has said that the sit-ins being held by Jamaat-e-Islami at the headquarters of all four provinces are turning into centres of public mobilisation.<\/p>\n
In a statement issued by the Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad office on August 18, 2026, Randhawa said the protests had created a fresh wave of public awareness, with a large number of people joining the struggle for their rights.<\/p>\n
He said Jamaat-e-Islami\u2019s key demands included reduction in the prices of petroleum products, abolition of the petroleum levy, decrease in oppressive taxes and provision of real economic relief to the people.<\/p>\n
Randhawa maintained that these demands were receiving strong acceptance at the public level. He added that the increasing interest and participation of citizens in the sit-ins clearly showed that the people were no longer ready to accept further inflation and economic burden.<\/p>\n
The JI Islamabad chief said the sit-ins were not merely a protest but a movement to organise and mobilise the public. He said the countrywide public mobilisation would, Insha\u2019Allah, prove to be a precursor to major change and a new revolution.<\/p>\n
Randhawa urged the government to listen to the voice of the people and immediately accept Jamaat-e-Islami\u2019s legitimate demands.
