RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Sessions Court has acquitted all accused in the murder case of Forest Guard Luqman, concluding a closely followed criminal trial from Tehsil Kotli Sattian.<\/p>\n
Additional Sessions Judge Afshan Ejaz Soofi announced the verdict after completion of the trial and examination of the evidence, witness statements and arguments advanced by both the prosecution and the defence.<\/p>\n
The accused, identified as Tahmeena, Haseeb, Samia and Ishtiaq Hussain, had been nominated in FIR No. 101\/22 under Sections 302, 365, 109 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The court held that the prosecution could not establish its case beyond reasonable doubt and ordered the acquittal of all the accused persons.<\/p>\n
A central aspect of the proceedings was the defence conducted by Absar-ul-Haq Satti, Advocate Supreme Court, who appeared on behalf of accused Samia and Ishtiaq Hussain. During the trial, he challenged the prosecution evidence, pointed out inconsistencies in witness testimonies and argued that the allegations were not backed by reliable and legally admissible material.<\/p>\n
Mr Satti maintained before the court that the prosecution had failed to prove any direct link between his clients and the alleged offences. Legal circles viewed his line of defence as important in highlighting weaknesses in the prosecution case and in reaffirming the settled principle that a criminal conviction must rest on proof beyond reasonable doubt.<\/p>\n
The court agreed that the prosecution had not discharged its legal burden, which led to the acquittal of all accused.<\/p>\n
The other accused, Tahmeena and Haseeb, were represented by Malik Imran Feroz, Advocate Supreme Court, who also presented detailed legal arguments in their defence.<\/p>\n
During the proceedings, the complainant also recorded a statement before the court, expressing his intention not to proceed with the case against Tahmeena. He stated that she was responsible for the care and upbringing of the deceased\u2019s only daughter.<\/p>\n
With the verdict, the case pending since 2022 has reached its conclusion at the trial court stage. The decision is being seen as a notable legal success for the defence team led by Absar-ul-Haq Satti, Advocate Supreme Court, and brings closure to one of Kotli Sattian\u2019s prominent criminal cases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
