ISLAMABAD, Aug 19, 2026: Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada on Wednesday expressed serious concern over the prolonged delay in the completion of Green Enclave-I and Lifestyle Residency projects and directed the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) to take immediate and effective measures to resolve the issues.<\/p>\n
The minister issued the directions while chairing the 50th Executive Board Meeting of FGEHA.<\/p>\n
At the start of the meeting, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada questioned the FGEHA authorities over the extraordinary delay in the projects and sought detailed explanations about the lack of progress.<\/p>\n
He said he had repeatedly been required to respond before Parliamentary and Senate committees as well as various oversight forums regarding the progress of the projects. The minister noted with concern that despite the passage of nearly three years, the schemes had not made the desired progress.<\/p>\n
Taking notice of media reports about protests by allottees of Green Enclave-I and their approach to the Federal Ombudsman, the minister said the concerns of the allottees could not be ignored. He stressed that the authority must show transparency, accountability and efficiency in addressing the issues, while ensuring all possible steps for the completion of the projects.<\/p>\n
Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada also directed that all pending inquiry reports be submitted within the stipulated timelines and that immediate action be taken on their findings.<\/p>\n
He observed that unnecessary delays in completing inquiries were worsening the situation and creating uncertainty for senior bureaucrats as well as lower-grade officers and officials who had invested their hard-earned money in the hope of securing their own homes but continued to wait unjustly for completion of the projects.<\/p>\n
The minister further instructed the FGEHA Board to take appropriate action in line with the findings and recommendations of the inquiry reports, ensuring that the process remained fair, transparent, justified and timely.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the FGEHA Executive Board also considered and approved the authority\u2019s annual budget for the financial year 2026-27.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
