The representatives presented him flowers and cut a cake to mark the achievement.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony was attended by Capital Hospital Nursing Superintendent Madam Tanveer, Pakistan Nursing Federation General Secretary Shabir Tanoli, and Nursing Association office-bearers Mr Philip Somroo, Mr Abdul Aziz, Mr Farooq Laghari, Mr Abdul Rauf, Madam Farzana Malik and Madam Zumurrad. Other office-bearers, nurses and paramedical staff were also present.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr Naeem Taj said he would continue working with commitment for the development and improvement of Capital Hospital and for ensuring the best possible medical facilities for patients.<\/p>\n<p>He said efforts would also continue to bring the outstanding services of Capital Hospital nurses and other employees to the national level, so that deserving and talented staff members could also be considered for national awards.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Dr Taj described nurses as the backbone and a valuable asset of Capital Hospital. He said nurses had been serving patients with dedication, sincerity and a strong spirit of service for several decades, including 20, 30 and even 35 years.<\/p>\n<p>He assured the nursing staff that all possible efforts would be made to address their legitimate concerns and protect their rights.<\/p>\n<p>During the ceremony, the nursing staff also raised the issue of the Draft Seniority List of nurses, which they said had been pending for the last four years. They maintained that, under the applicable rules relating to the seniority of government employees, the draft seniority list should be issued and finalized in a timely manner.<\/p>\n<p>The nurses said the Draft Seniority List of Capital Hospital nurses had remained pending with HRD for the past four years, causing delays and adversely affecting promotions and other service matters.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Dr Naeem Taj assured the nurses that he would take up the matter with the relevant authorities, including the Member Administration, and make every possible effort to ensure early resolution of the Draft Seniority List issue.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that all possible steps would be taken to ensure that nurses receive their legitimate and lawful rights.<\/p>\n<p>The office-bearers of the Capital Hospital Nursing Association and the Pakistan Nursing Federation offered heartfelt congratulations to Professor Dr Naeem Taj on his selection for the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.
