Islamabad, 21 August 2026: Secretary Women\u2019s Parliamentary Caucus (WPC) of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Dr Shahida Rehmani, has congratulated the Speaker of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly on the constitution of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Women\u2019s Parliamentary Caucus.<\/p>\n
Dr Rehmani welcomed the notification issued by the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly on 11 August 2026, describing the establishment of the caucus as an important step towards strengthening women\u2019s participation in parliamentary affairs and providing a joint platform to women legislators in Gilgit-Baltistan.<\/p>\n
She appreciated the role and support of the Speaker in bringing women parliamentarians from different political parties together under the Women\u2019s Parliamentary Caucus platform.<\/p>\n
Dr Rehmani said the National Assembly Women\u2019s Parliamentary Caucus believed in promoting coordination and solidarity among women parliamentarians across Pakistan. She reaffirmed the commitment of the National Assembly WPC to extend full support and cooperation to the newly constituted Gilgit-Baltistan Women\u2019s Parliamentary Caucus.<\/p>\n
She also underlined the importance of knowledge-sharing, capacity-building, peer learning and technical support to strengthen the institutional role of the caucus and improve the effective participation of women parliamentarians in legislative and parliamentary processes.<\/p>\n
Dr Rehmani expressed the hope that the Gilgit-Baltistan Women\u2019s Parliamentary Caucus would play an effective role in advancing women\u2019s rights, gender-responsive legislation and matters concerning women and girls in Gilgit-Baltistan.<\/p>\n
She further expressed her desire to strengthen linkages between the National Assembly WPC and the Gilgit-Baltistan Women\u2019s Parliamentary Caucus through joint consultations, learning initiatives and continued parliamentary cooperation.<\/p>\n

She again congratulated the Speaker and all members of the newly constituted Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Women\u2019s Parliamentary Caucus and wished them success in their parliamentary work.<\/p>\n
