Professor Dr Rubina Nazli, Dean of Basic Medical Sciences, has assumed the responsibilities on an acting basis.<\/p>\n<p>A ceremony to mark the change of leadership was held at KMU\u2019s Alexander Fleming Hall. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Khaliq Ur Rehman, Professor Dr Zia Ul Haq, Professor Dr Rubina Nazli, KMU Registrar Inam Ullah Khan Wazir, deans, faculty members and senior administrative officers attended the event.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, Dr Zia Ul Haq presented an overview of his tenure from 2020 to 2026. He referred to efforts made during his leadership for institutional strengthening, academic improvement, promotion of research, digital transformation and enhancing the university\u2019s role in the healthcare system.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Zia said one of the key objectives of his leadership had been to develop KMU into a modern, research-focused institution with international recognition. He also acknowledged the support of faculty members and administrative staff in introducing digital systems, promoting paperless working and improving research and academic standards.<\/p>\n<p>During his tenure, KMU witnessed a notable expansion of its academic and health sciences network. According to the university\u2019s official information, KMU developed into a large health sciences network comprising postgraduate institutes, medical and dental colleges and allied health institutions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Zia Ul Haq was also associated with academic and policy reforms at the university. Earlier this year, the KMU Academic Council approved several measures, including amendments to the migration policy aimed at addressing issues faced by students shifting between universities and private institutes, along with other academic reforms.<\/p>\n<p>KP Health Minister Khaliq Ur Rehman appreciated Dr Zia Ul Haq for his services to KMU and said his dedication, hard work and administrative abilities had contributed to the development of the university. He termed the handing over of responsibilities a smooth transition of leadership.<\/p>\n<p>After assuming acting charge, Professor Dr Rubina Nazli said she would continue efforts to strengthen the university\u2019s academic and research standards, digital transformation and institutional stability. She said she intended to take forward the vision and mission of KMU with the cooperation of the faculty, administration and other stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>The leadership change is being closely followed as KMU has emerged as one of the major health sciences universities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with thousands of students enrolled across its network of institutions.
