MARDAN: Women University Mardan (WUM) has signed two separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Asad Zia Hospital, Mardan, and Ihsan Medical Center, Mardan, to strengthen clinical training, practical exposure and research opportunities for students of its Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics.<\/p>\n
The agreements were signed on behalf of WUM by Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Razia Sultana Ahmad. The MoU with Asad Zia Hospital was signed by its CEO Dr Aiman Zia, while the agreement with Ihsan Medical Center was signed by its CEO Mr Biland Khan.<\/p>\n
Under the MoUs, eligible BS students, including those in their final semester, will be able to undertake supervised clinical internships and practical training placements of four to six weeks at the respective institutions, subject to capacity and mutual coordination.<\/p>\n
The agreements also provide for joint research initiatives, seminars and workshops, besides structured mechanisms for supervision, ethical compliance and data confidentiality.<\/p>\n
University officials said the partnerships reflected WUM\u2019s continued efforts to strengthen linkages between academic learning and practical healthcare experience, enabling students to gain broader exposure across clinical settings in Mardan.<\/p>\n
Both MoUs were facilitated by WUM\u2019s Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), represented by Director ORIC Ms Haleema Ikram. Dr Ayesha Bibi, Head of the Department of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, coordinated on the academic side.<\/p>\n
