Islamabad: Maroof International Hospital (MIH), in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy Islamabad, organised a free medical camp at Hamara Ghar Welfare Trust in Shah Allah Ditta, with a focus on the health and wellbeing of girls and children.<\/p>\n
The camp was arranged under MIH\u2019s Community Support Programme and the Embassy\u2019s voluntary community service initiatives. Around 120 girls and children received free medical consultations, medicines and healthcare guidance.<\/p>\n
Specialist services were provided in several areas, including ophthalmology and eye care, paediatrics, general medicine, dental care, nutrition and dietetics, mental health, and early intervention therapy. The camp also offered support for children facing speech delays and developmental needs.<\/p>\n
Thailand\u2019s Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Mr Rongvudhi Virabutr, appreciated MIH\u2019s commitment to humanitarian service and praised Hamara Ghar for looking after children who have lost their parents. He affectionately described the children as \u201clittle angels\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cCompassion becomes meaningful when it reaches those who need it most. Today\u2019s initiative is not only about healthcare; it is about sharing care, dignity and hope with these wonderful children. This spirit of compassion is reflected in the Royal Thai Embassy\u2019s commitment to community service and humanitarian support,\u201d the Ambassador said.<\/p>\n
He also lauded the partnership among MIH, the Royal Thai Embassy and Hamara Ghar, stressing the need for collective efforts to improve community wellbeing. He presented gifts to the children and encouraged Hamara Ghar to continue its valuable work.<\/p>\n
MIH Chairman Ch. Naseer Ahmed reaffirmed the hospital\u2019s resolve to support the children of Hamara Ghar beyond healthcare by helping create opportunities for their professional growth.<\/p>\n
\u201cHealthcare is not simply about treating illness; it is about giving people the confidence and opportunity to build a better future. These girls have enormous potential, and we want to stand beside them as they grow,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He announced that MIH would offer internship opportunities to children of Hamara Ghar once they reach the appropriate stage. He said the hospital would also explore further avenues of support to help them gain practical exposure, professional skills and confidence.<\/p>\n
MIH CEO Mr Haroon Naseer appreciated the medical teams and staff for their dedication. He urged the girls to focus on their education and future goals.<\/p>\n
\u201cYour circumstances may shape your journey, but they should never define your future. Believe in yourselves, focus on your education and pursue your dreams with confidence. Every girl deserves the opportunity to grow up healthy, educated and empowered,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Capt. (R) Tariq Mehmood Satti, CEO of Hamara Ghar Welfare Trust, said the organisation was established in 2005 following the devastating earthquake. He said what began as an effort to support children affected by the tragedy had developed into a home providing care, education and opportunities for a better future.<\/p>\n
Hamara Ghar currently provides a safe and nurturing home to nearly 500 girls, from the age of three through university. The organisation supports them with shelter, education, healthcare and opportunities to shape their futures.<\/p>\n
The medical camp was held to commemorate the birth anniversary of Her Majesty the late Queen Sirikit of Thailand and Thailand\u2019s National Mother\u2019s Day. Her Majesty\u2019s legacy of compassion and service formed the backdrop for the initiative focused on girls\u2019 health, dignity and wellbeing.<\/p>\n
