The activity was aimed at building a common understanding of a credible, sustainable and quality-assured national system for continuing medical education and continuing professional development.<\/p>\n<p>The closing ceremony was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for National Heritage and Culture Ms Farah Naz Akbar as chief guest. PM&amp;DC President Prof Dr Rizwan Taj, Registrar PM&amp;DC Brig Dr Rehan Naqvi, faculty members, participants and other senior officials were also present.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr Rizwan Taj highlighted the importance of CME and CPD in helping healthcare professionals keep pace with developments in medical science and clinical practice. He said PM&amp;DC was committed to developing a CME\/CPD system aligned with best international practices.<\/p>\n<p>He also shared his vision that Pakistani doctors and dentists should remain among the most updated healthcare professionals in terms of knowledge, skills and professional practice.<\/p>\n<p>Prof Dr Rizwan Taj thanked Dr Natasha from Aga Khan University, who facilitated the three-day workshop, for her expertise and contribution in guiding participants on effective CME\/CPD design, implementation and evaluation.<\/p>\n<p>Chief guest Ms Farah Naz Akbar appreciated the PM&amp;DC initiative and praised the vision and leadership of Prof Dr Rizwan Taj in strengthening the regulatory framework for medical and dental education and professional development.<\/p>\n<p>In his closing remarks, Brig Dr Rehan Naqvi acknowledged the leadership of the PM&amp;DC president and referred to the landmark milestones achieved by the Council during his tenure. He said the CME\/CPD initiative was another important step towards advancing the president\u2019s vision, strengthening professional standards and encouraging continuous learning and professional development among registered medical and dental practitioners.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop covered the complete CME\/CPD cycle, including identification of professional practice gaps and educational needs, formulation of measurable learning objectives, educational design, integrity and independence, outcome evaluation, governance, documentation, monitoring and quality assurance.<\/p>\n<p>Participants shared their reflections and gave highly positive feedback. They expressed interest in continued engagement with PM&amp;DC and in the organisation of similar capacity-building activities in the future. They particularly welcomed the practical focus of the workshop and its emphasis on promoting a sustainable and meaningful culture of continuous professional learning.<\/p>\n<p>PM&amp;DC reaffirmed that the initiative is part of its broader commitment to establishing a transparent, credible and internationally aligned CME\/CPD framework.
