Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (PMAS-AAUR) has further strengthened Pakistan-China academic and scientific cooperation through the participation of its Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology in the GEO-STEP International Summer School held at Henan University, China.<\/p>\n
According to a press release issued on September 3, 2026, the international summer school was attended by 50 participants, including 26 international participants. The programme provided a platform for academic exchange, scientific discussion and cross-cultural learning.<\/p>\n
Representing PMAS-AAUR, Dr Tahir Iqbal, Associate Professor, delivered a lecture titled \u201cSmart Agriculture in Arid Regions: Localized Innovation and Practical Applications of Precision Agriculture Technologies in Pakistan.\u201d<\/p>\n
In his presentation, Dr Iqbal highlighted Pakistan\u2019s experience and innovations in smart sensing, precision irrigation, precision agriculture and climate-resilient farming, with particular reference to arid and semi-arid regions.<\/p>\n
Students of Arid University also took an active part in academic presentations during the summer school. They secured second prize in the Student Presentation Competition, earning recognition for the university at an international academic forum.<\/p>\n
The participation reflected PMAS-AAUR\u2019s growing engagement in international academic and research activities, as well as efforts to promote cooperation between Pakistan and China in agricultural education, research and modern technology.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
