Islamabad: Vice chancellors and rectors of federal universities and higher education institutions reaffirmed their commitment to academic excellence, research and innovation at their 4th monthly meeting held at the Head Office of Bahria University, Islamabad.<\/p>\n
The forum was initiated as a follow-up to discussions held during the 6th International Students Convention and Expo, with the objective of promoting closer coordination among higher education institutions across the country.<\/p>\n
Vice chancellors and rectors from more than 25 public and private sector universities attended the meeting, along with senior officials of the Higher Education Commission. Prof Dr Saud Altaf represented the National Skills University Islamabad.<\/p>\n
The gathering served as a platform for academic leaders to share experiences, review emerging challenges in the higher education sector and identify possibilities for stronger inter-university cooperation.<\/p>\n
Participants discussed matters relating to academic quality, research and innovation, institutional governance, internationalisation, student development and skills enhancement. The forum underlined the need for collective efforts to respond to contemporary educational challenges and to strengthen teaching, research and community engagement.<\/p>\n
A key feature of the meeting was a visit to Bahria University\u2019s Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence. The participants were briefed on the Centre\u2019s research priorities, ongoing projects and initiatives designed to promote AI-driven education, research, innovation and industry linkages.<\/p>\n
The visit highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in shaping the future of higher education and contributing to national development.<\/p>\n
At the conclusion of the meeting, the participating institutions renewed their resolve to work together for the advancement of higher education in Pakistan. They reiterated their shared vision for academic excellence, research and innovation, effective governance and the development of a skilled workforce capable of meeting national and global challenges.<\/p>\n
