Pakistan: Coke Studio Nu.WAV has marked the start of its journey with the release of Dil, its opening track featuring Afusic and Zoha Waseem, with production by Ali Soomro.<\/p>\n
The song is the first of six releases planned under Coke Studio Nu.WAV and presents an intimate take on love, distraction and the person who remains central despite the noise around them.<\/p>\n
According to the details, Dil came together almost instinctively. Producer Ali Soomro began with his guitar, and within around 20 minutes, a beat had started taking shape. Later that night, the idea was sent to Afusic, who responded with a phone-recorded voice note carrying bare vocals. By the next morning, there was little inclination to alter what had emerged so naturally. Soomro has described the moment as aamad, an idea arriving before one goes in search of it.<\/p>\n
The result is a personal love song. Afusic\u2019s verses address the woman who knew him before success brought greater attention, distractions and a world that seldom stays quiet. Zoha\u2019s entry changes the mood of the track, turning a private expression into a conversation and giving voice to the other side of the relationship.<\/p>\n
The video for Dil, directed by Kamal Khan, builds on the theme of disruption through a surreal visual setting. Loosely inspired by classic hero\u2019s journey stories, it follows Afusic as a man trying to find his way back home. Zoha, meanwhile, exists in a world that is literally upside down in his absence. Furniture hangs from the ceiling and ordinary objects appear out of place. It is only when the two finally come into the same room that everything returns to order.<\/p>\n
Speaking about the release, Kamal Khan, Executive Producer, Coke Studio Nu.WAV, said, \u201cDil felt like the right song to open Coke Studio Nu.WAV because it captures what we want this platform to be about: artists bringing something personal and making it their own. The song comes from a very real place, and visually we took the idea of love being tested by distraction and built a slightly surreal world around it. Afusic moves through all that noise while Zoha gives the song another perspective, and eventually both worlds come together.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dil brings together two artists whose individual musical paths reflect the broader spirit of Nu.WAV. Hyderabad-born singer, songwriter and rapper Afusic has developed from an independent digital-first artist into one of the emerging voices in contemporary South Asian pop and hip-hop. His breakout track Pal Pal gathered hundreds of millions of streams and reached listeners beyond Pakistan, including chart success in the UK and Canada.<\/p>\n
Zoha Waseem brings her grounding in classical and ghazal singing into the world of contemporary pop. After first gaining recognition through classical performances in Lahore, her releases, including Majboor, introduced her to a growing digital audience while shaping a sound that connects traditional vocal training with modern production.<\/p>\n
Dil has been written and composed by Afusic and Ali Raza. The music has been arranged and produced by Ali Soomro and mastered by Sean Tallman. The film has been directed by Kamal Khan, with Aamir Mughal as Director of Photography and Syed Hammad Sohail leading production design. The project has been produced by Gali Films, with Iman Khan as Producer.<\/p>\n
The track is now available across Coke Studio\u2019s official digital platforms. Dil is the first of six Coke Studio Nu.WAV releases, with more songs and creative worlds scheduled to arrive in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n
