Islamabad, September 10, 2026: A high-level delegation of the Gates Foundation met Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja in Islamabad on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The delegation was led by Dr Kalpana Kochhar, Interim President of the Global Policy and Advocacy Division, and Dr Anita Zaidi, President of the Gender Equality Division at the Gates Foundation.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the federal minister briefed the delegation on the government\u2019s flagship Digital Nation Pakistan agenda. She said the initiative was aimed at promoting inclusive digital growth, improving public service delivery through modern systems, and strengthening the country\u2019s digital economy.<\/p>\n
Shaza Fatima Khawaja said international cooperation, especially partnership with the Gates Foundation, was important for achieving the vision of a digitally empowered Pakistan.<\/p>\n
The Gates Foundation delegation appreciated Pakistan\u2019s progress in digital transformation in recent years, particularly the reforms and initiatives taken by the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication.<\/p>\n
Both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in artificial intelligence, the digital economy, data systems, health technology, financial inclusion, capacity building, and technology-led development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
