RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has carried out an enforcement operation against illegal housing schemes, unauthorised development and construction violations in its controlled areas on the directions of Commissioner Rawalpindi Division and RDA Director General Salman Ghani.<\/p>\n
According to an RDA handout issued on September 18, 2026, the enforcement squad took action at three locations: Downtown Morgah on Defence Road opposite Askari-14, a land subdivision near Dhok Nawaz Graveyard, and an illegal housing scheme at Riaz Chowk, Morgah, Rawalpindi.<\/p>\n
During the operation, the team demolished illegally developed roads, infrastructure, manholes, sewerage pipelines and barriers at the sites in accordance with relevant rules and regulations.<\/p>\n
The authority said the action was taken under the Punjab Development of Cities Act, 1976, RDA Building and Zoning Regulations, and other applicable planning laws and regulations.<\/p>\n
The RDA enforcement team has been directed to continue regular field inspections and proceed against illegal development, unauthorised construction and other violations strictly in line with the law.<\/p>\n
An RDA spokesperson said the authority had made it clear that unauthorised commercial activities, illegal construction and development violations would not be allowed within its controlled areas. He said action was being taken against violators to ensure compliance with approved building plans, zoning regulations and other relevant laws.<\/p>\n
The spokesperson further said the campaign against illegal construction, unauthorised development and unlawful commercial activities would continue under the applicable laws, rules and regulations. Field teams have been instructed to maintain strict monitoring and take action against violations without discrimination.<\/p>\n
The operation was led by Muhammad Daud, Deputy Director Planning. Lutafullah, Assistant Director Planning; Hamza Saleem, Assistant Director Planning; Muhammad Tariq, Scheme Superintendent; Imran Hussain, Scheme Inspector; and other field staff also took part in the enforcement action.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
