LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars and the University of Management and Technology (UMT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support young cricketers through a three-year collaboration combining professional training with higher education opportunities.<\/p>\n
The agreement was signed by Lahore Qalandars owner and Chief Executive Officer Atif Rana and UMT President Ibrahim Murad. The partnership is aimed at helping promising players develop as cricketers while also pursuing academic and professional growth.<\/p>\n
Under the MoU, Lahore Qalandars will identify and recommend talented cricketers for admission and scholarship opportunities at UMT. Eligible players will be provided scholarships and other educational facilities in line with the university\u2019s policies.<\/p>\n
Speaking on the occasion, Atif Rana welcomed the initiative and said the partnership would open new avenues for young players to move forward both in cricket and in education. He said Lahore Qalandars would ensure that young cricketers were not only educated but also given practical skills.<\/p>\n
Rana also thanked Ibrahim Murad for extending support for scholarship opportunities for talented cricketers, saying the arrangement would provide aspiring players with a stronger platform to improve their cricketing skills while continuing their studies.<\/p>\n
UMT President Ibrahim Murad said the university was committed to backing talented athletes and enabling them to build successful futures alongside their sporting careers. He said Lahore Qalandars and UMT would work together to produce new champions for Pakistan.<\/p>\n
Murad added that educated athletes could play an important role in representing the country at the international level.<\/p>\n
As part of the partnership, both sides will arrange joint training sessions, coaching clinics, talent-development programmes and friendly cricket matches. Players of the UMT cricket team will also get the opportunity to receive specialised training at the Lahore Qalandars High Performance Centre.<\/p>\n
The collaboration will also focus on identifying and grooming emerging cricketers through structured programmes. The three-year MoU reflects an effort to create a pathway where young players can combine competitive cricket with higher education, professional coaching and skill development.<\/p>\n
