ISLAMABAD, November 1, 2026: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has processed 302,587 applications out of 304,819 received across different registration categories up to October 2026, clearing around 99 percent of the total applications submitted through its registration system.<\/p>\n
According to PM&DC, the progress has been made under the leadership and directions of its President, Prof Dr Rizwan Taj, through proactive steps aimed at strengthening the Council\u2019s registration mechanism, speeding up processing, ensuring timely disposal of cases and improving the handling of applications filed by doctors and dental professionals.<\/p>\n
The Council said improved workflow management, proactive monitoring and special attention to pending cases had enabled faster processing and timely responses to applicants. It added that the online registration portal and better administrative coordination had reduced the need for doctors to make unnecessary visits to the PM&DC office.<\/p>\n
The facilitation, according to the Council, has allowed medical and dental professionals to complete their cases remotely, saving time, reducing travel expenses and minimising inconvenience. PM&DC said the measure was particularly useful for doctors working in hospitals, remote areas and other demanding professional settings.<\/p>\n
PM&DC stated that continuous upgrading of the registration system and proactive monitoring had helped improve operations by keeping track of application volumes, processing status, objections and pending cases. The portal statistics, it said, provided a consolidated picture of performance across multiple categories and supported informed administrative decisions and targeted follow-up.<\/p>\n
The Council has processed and issued applications in several categories, including full licences, provisional licences, renewals, good standing certificates, postgraduate qualification registrations, faculty registrations and experience verification.<\/p>\n
As per PM&DC Registration Portal Statistics up to October 2026, the Council received 304,819 applications across various categories, of which 302,587 were successfully issued. In major categories, 90,683 renewal-of-full-licence applications were issued out of 90,837 received, while 54,044 full-licence applications were issued out of 54,620 received.<\/p>\n
Similarly, 51,702 provisional licences were issued out of 51,736 applications, and 40,619 Good Standing Certificates were issued against 40,630 applications received. The Council also processed 17,158 postgraduate qualification registration applications out of 17,203, along with 11,065 faculty registration applications out of 11,308 received. In addition, 7,343 applications of Pakistani nationals seeking foreign basic provisional licences were issued out of 7,347 received.<\/p>\n
In his statement, PM&DC President Prof Dr Rizwan Taj said the figures reflected the scale of work undertaken by the Council and the progress achieved in several high-volume registration categories. He highlighted the importance of institutional efficiency, transparency, accountability and timely facilitation of medical and dental professionals.<\/p>\n
He said the Council would continue to improve its registration procedures, strengthen administrative oversight and address pending cases in line with applicable rules and regulatory requirements.<\/p>\n
Prof Dr Rizwan Taj further stated that PM&DC was modernising its operational systems to ensure that registration services meet the needs of healthcare professionals while maintaining the standards expected of Pakistan\u2019s national medical and dental regulatory body. He said the Council desired regulatory excellence, efficient registration and improved facilitation for medical and dental professionals.<\/p>\n
The Council has also focused on early identification of deficiencies and objections in applications so that applicants can be informed about outstanding requirements and their cases can proceed without avoidable delays.
