The Punjab Environment Protection Agency (Pak-EPA) has intensified its efforts to curb the use of single-use plastics in Islamabad by conducting targeted enforcement operations. In a recent field visit to the F-7 sector, the agency’s enforcement team identified and confiscated approximately 40 kilograms of disposable plastic items, including plates, spoons, forks, containers, and glasses, from various restaurants and cafes.<\/p>\n
During the operation, the team visited multiple eateries within F-7 markaz, issuing warnings to establishments found in violation of the Single-Use Plastic (Prohibition) Regulations 2023. In addition to seizing the plastic items, the enforcement team distributed informational notices to restaurant owners and staff to reinforce awareness about the restrictions on single-use plastics and to promote compliance. These notices are intended to be displayed prominently within the premises to increase public awareness.<\/p>\n
