The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has warmly welcomed 350 undergraduate Afghan scholars to Pakistan under the Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Program. The students, who arrived in Peshawar, will initially take part in a specially developed preparatory course before enrolling in various universities across the country later this year.<\/p>\n
The undergraduate scholarship recipients were greeted at a reception hosted by the HEC at its Regional Center in Peshawar. Representatives from the HEC, the National University of Technology (NUTECH), Islamabad, and the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (NUCES-FAST), Faisalabad, attended the welcome event, extending their support and guidance to the newly arrived students.<\/p>\n
This educational initiative is part of the Pakistani government’s broader plan to award 4,500 scholarships to Afghan students through the renowned Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Program. Demonstrating continued commitment, an additional group of 50 PhD and 100 Master’s-level Afghan students is scheduled to arrive in September 2025, further enriching academic collaboration between the two nations.<\/p>\n
