The Embassy of Japan in Pakistan, in partnership with the Nippon Foundation, has donated 166 English-language books to COMSATS University Islamabad’s Abbottabad Campus, aiming to enhance understanding and strengthen friendship between Japan and Pakistan.<\/p>\n
The collection was formally presented to the university by H.E. Mr. AKAMATSU Shuichi, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, highlighting the significance of cultural exchange and knowledge sharing. In his remarks during the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Shuichi stated, “The gift of books from the Nippon Foundation today are in fact the bridges of knowledge and friendship between Japan and Pakistan.”<\/p>\n
Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak, Director of COMSATS University Islamabad Abbottabad Campus, attended the ceremony as well and expressed deep appreciation toward the Embassy of Japan and the Nippon Foundation. He praised their generosity and emphasized the importance of this donation as an opportunity for students to gain deeper insights about Japan. Prof. Khattak expressed his hope that these resources would not only enhance student knowledge but also contribute positively towards strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two nations.<\/p>\n
Selected by the Nippon Foundation as part of its “Read Japan Project,” these 166 books cover diverse subjects, including politics, economics, security, philosophy, art, and culture of Japan. Through carefully curated selections, the organization regularly donates collections to libraries abroad, supporting global efforts to increase international awareness and understanding of Japan.<\/p>\n
