A high-level delegation consisting of representatives from UNICEF and senior government officials from Sindh\u2019s School Education and Literacy Department visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to assess innovative ICT interventions enabling digital reforms in Punjab, with a special focus on developments within the education sector.<\/p>\n
The delegation was welcomed by PITB’s Director General of IT Solutions, Waqar Naeem Qureshi, Directors Shahid Akram Khan and Rana Abid Mehmood, as well as Joint Director Sajjad Qureshi. Following introductions, the delegates received comprehensive briefings on PITB\u2019s leading technology-driven initiatives aimed at enhancing the performance and efficiency of various government departments.<\/p>\n
DG Waqar Naeem Qureshi initiated the session by highlighting PITB\u2019s foundational role in establishing digital governance through sustainable and scalable ICT platforms. Emphasising the Board\u2019s commitment to innovation and transparency, Qureshi underlined the importance of technology-led governance solutions for public service transformation.<\/p>\n
Director Shahid Akram Khan presented a detailed overview of PITB’s Training Management System (TMS) and the Financial Reporting System (FRS). These advanced digital systems were demonstrated as essential tools for streamlining public sector training programs while ensuring greater accountability and transparency in financial affairs.<\/p>\n
Further, Director Rana Abid Mehmood introduced delegates to the Centralized Data Analytics Dashboard designed by PITB. He emphasized its capacity to facilitate data-informed policy making and decision support across various government levels. Mehmood also underscored PITB\u2019s integration of artificial intelligence analytics, explaining how AI-driven insights significantly enhance governance practices and outcomes.<\/p>\n
Joint Director Sajjad Qureshi concluded presentations by outlining PITB\u2019s major IT initiatives within Punjab\u2019s educational institutions. These projects, he stated, had substantially improved administrative efficiency and significantly elevated service delivery standards within the education sector.<\/p>\n
The visiting delegation praised PITB\u2019s impressive progress towards digital transformation, appreciating the scalability, effectiveness, and versatility of its projects.
