A high-level delegation from Sui Northern Gas visited the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) to discuss solutions for the region’s persistent gas supply issues and to announce new initiatives aimed at supporting the business community. The meeting brought together senior executives from Sui Northern Gas and key figures from RCCI, highlighting a collaborative approach to tackling challenges such as gas shortages, low pressure, and service delays.<\/p>\n
The Sui Northern Gas delegation was led by Deputy Managing Director (Operations) Saqib Arbab, Deputy Managing Director (Services) Faisal Iqbal, Senior General Manager (Distribution-North) Taj Ali Khan, and General Manager Rawalpindi Masam Ibrar. RCCI’s Acting President Khalid Farooq Qazi chaired the meeting, accompanied by Group Leader Sohail Altaf, Vice President Fahad Barlas, and other executive committee members and trade representatives.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Sui Northern Gas officials outlined ongoing and upcoming projects designed to improve the reliability and quality of gas supply. Among the key announcements was the establishment of a dedicated help desk at RCCI, which will serve as a resource for local businesses seeking information or assistance with gas-related matters.<\/p>\n
To further enhance transparency and communication between the utility company and its customers, Sui Northern Gas plans to host regular awareness sessions. These sessions will provide the business community and domestic consumers with up-to-date guidance on service improvements, connection procedures, and safety protocols.<\/p>\n
Addressing the core issue of aging infrastructure, company representatives revealed that a comprehensive project is underway to replace outdated gas pipelines. This overhaul aims to tackle recurring problems like leakages, errors with EVS meters, and overbilling, ultimately improving the overall gas distribution network in the region.<\/p>\n
Recognizing the importance of industrial support, Sui Northern Gas also announced plans to conduct a detailed survey of the Rawat Industrial Estate. The information gathered will inform the potential establishment of a help desk at this key industrial hub, further streamlining support for commercial consumers.<\/p>\n
Participants at the meeting voiced concerns regarding gas pressure inconsistencies, delays in acquiring industrial connections, and general service disruptions. In response, Sui Northern Gas officials assured chamber members of their commitment to faster issue resolution, better coordination, and sustained engagement with all stakeholders.
