The Council on Rights of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) convened its 78th Medical Assessment Board meeting at NIRM Hospital in Islamabad, where federal authorities emphasized the government\u2019s continued commitment to supporting the rights and welfare of PWDs through a range of innovative initiatives.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, Federal Secretary for Human Rights, Mr. Abdul Khaliq Shaikh, outlined key government programs designed to assist people with disabilities. These measures include the issuance of disability certificates, the provision of special Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs), and facilitating duty-free car imports for eligible individuals. Mr. Shaikh also commended the collaborative efforts of the Council on Rights of PWDs (CRPD), the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal, and Social Welfare Centres for their vital roles in supporting PWDs.<\/p>\n
As part of the event, disability certificates were distributed to qualifying individuals, formalizing their recognition for government support and services. In recognition of dedicated service to the community, a commemorative shield was presented to Mr. Asif Shamim, Director of Social Welfare.<\/p>\n
