Participants engaged in candid dialogue, with a focus on the unique climate challenges facing Gilgit-Baltistan, a region home to over 8,400 of Pakistan\u2019s 13,000 glaciers.<\/p>\n<p>During his keynote address, Mr. Khadim Hussain, Director of GB-EPA, emphasized the urgent need to equip the youth with indigenous knowledge to protect vulnerable glacial resources. The summit featured two major panel discussions: the first explored youth-led climate action and entrepreneurship, while the second addressed risks associated with glacial melt and evolving water security challenges in Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Tawseef Khan, Founder and CEO of PCF, emphasized the pivotal role of young people in driving climate solutions and the importance of forums like this summit in connecting youth with stakeholders to foster sustainable action.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives from partnering organizations, including Arif Hussain (EvK2CNR), General Manager Asghar Khan (Serena Hotels), Secretary Imran Khan Rana (PRCS), and Mr. Manzoor Qureshi (GBRSP), reiterated their commitment to both climate resilience and the empowerment of young leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The event was attended by special guest Ms. Suraiya Zaman, Gilgit-Baltistan\u2019s Minister for Information Technology. She acknowledged the severity of regional climate challenges and praised efforts, despite limited resources, to address environmental threats. Ms. Zaman encouraged the youth to play an active role in reforestation, emphasizing the positive impact of planting trees for a safer, greener future.<\/p>\n<p>The summit concluded with a vote of thanks from Ms. Safia Kulsum, Vice President of PCF GB.
