The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Pakistan, in partnership with the Punjab Prosecution Department, Punjab Prisons Department, and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), has held a pivotal technical consultation in Lahore to finalize an integrated training methodology for Punjab\u2019s Case Flow Management System (CFMS) and Prisons Management Information System (PMIS).<\/p>\n
Supported by funding from the U.S. Embassy\u2019s Office of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL), the session brought together key stakeholders to consolidate insights from previous consultations conducted in Southern Punjab, Islamabad, and Gujranwala. The primary goal was to develop a structured training plan for both end-users and master trainers, thereby furthering digital justice reform initiatives across Punjab.<\/p>\n
The newly developed training modules are designed to facilitate real-time data sharing between prosecutors and prison officials. By improving information flow and case tracking, the initiative seeks to minimize delays in judicial decision-making and significantly reduce the number of Under Trial Prisoners (UTPs) through more timely processing of cases.
