**Punjab Launches Comprehensive E-Governance System to Enhance Transparency and Public Convenience**<\/p>\n
The Punjab Local Government Department has rolled out a new integrated e-governance platform\u2014featuring E-Auction, E-Billing, and Financial Management modules\u2014aimed at increasing transparency, efficiency, and public accessibility in municipal services. This major digital initiative, implemented under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, marks a significant move toward streamlining government-citizen interactions in the province.<\/p>\n
The launch event, held at Town Hall, was presided over by Provincial Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafiq. Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmad Mian and Deputy Commissioner Syed Musa Raza also attended the ceremony, where Minister Rafiq formally inaugurated the system. In his remarks, Minister Rafiq reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to transparent governance and noted that the new platform will simplify processes and provide greater convenience for the public.<\/p>\n
Developed with technical support from the Bank of Punjab and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), the e-system offers several key features designed to benefit both citizens and government employees. With the E-Billing system, citizens can now pay municipal fees online without visiting offices in person. In addition, retired employees of the department will receive pension payments through the new digital platform, further increasing efficiency and reducing the need for in-person visits.<\/p>\n
Minister Rafiq also announced plans to launch a comprehensive public awareness campaign to educate citizens about the new system\u2019s features. Furthermore, he instructed that payments related to the Suthra Punjab (Clean Punjab) initiative be integrated into the platform, signifying the government’s intent to link various civic services under a single digital umbrella.<\/p>\n
Secretary Shakeel Ahmad Mian echoed these sentiments and directed the integration of the Suthra Punjab survey with the new e-system. He reassured stakeholders that any technical challenges will be addressed as the system is rolled out and emphasized that the days of citizens having to physically visit municipal offices are now over.<\/p>\n
