The Timber Merchants Association from I-11 Islamabad has called for urgent action to address critical business challenges, following a high-level meeting with the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI). The delegation, led by President Haji Iqbal Khan, pressed for improvements in infrastructure, municipal services, and regulatory processes affecting the timber sector.<\/p>\n
During discussions at ICCI\u2019s office, the 14-member delegation outlined the difficulties faced by timber traders, citing inadequate infrastructure within the market, insufficient municipal services, and bureaucratic obstacles related to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) as major impediments to business operations.<\/p>\n
ICCI President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi received the delegation and assured them of the Chamber’s full support. He pledged to raise the timber merchants\u2019 concerns with the relevant authorities with the aim of achieving prompt and effective solutions. Qureshi underlined the importance of resolving sector-specific challenges faced by markets like Timber Market I-11 to ensure the continued growth and efficiency of Islamabad\u2019s trade and industry. He reiterated ICCI\u2019s commitment to advocating for policies that encourage a business-friendly environment.<\/p>\n
The Timber Merchants Association delegation also included Chairman Noor Ayaz Khan, Senior Vice President Muhammad Basharat Gujar, Vice President Saeed Khan Mehsud, General Secretary Malik Azhar, and other key office bearers. ICCI was represented by executive members Malik Abdul Aziz, Waseem Chaudhry, and Advisor to the President Naeem Siddiqui.<\/p>\n
Earlier in the meeting, ICCI Vice President Nasir Mehmood Chaudhry welcomed the visiting traders and reaffirmed the Chamber\u2019s dedication to supporting the timber sector in overcoming its challenges.
