The SHARP team in Timergara organized a capacity-building workshop for 34 Levies officials in Batkhela, aiming to enhance their understanding of human rights, international protection, and legal frameworks for supporting displaced Afghan communities.<\/p>\n
The workshop included in-depth sessions on the mandates of SHARP and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), as well as national and international human rights laws. Participants also received training on the Juvenile Justice System Act 2018 and the Torture and Custodial Death (Prevention and Punishment) Act 2022. Special emphasis was placed on international protection mechanisms, equipping attendees with the knowledge to respond more effectively to the needs of vulnerable populations.<\/p>\n
Key facilitators from SHARP, including Field Manager Farhat Bibi, Lawyer Noman Rahim, and Protection Officer Salman Farooq, led the sessions using a combination of presentations and interactive discussions. This approach encouraged active engagement, allowing participants to share insights and practical experiences.<\/p>\n
