{"id":7510,"date":"2025-08-02T12:26:53","date_gmt":"2025-08-02T12:26:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.peakpoint.pk\/en\/?p=7510"},"modified":"2025-08-02T12:26:53","modified_gmt":"2025-08-02T12:26:53","slug":"gohar-ejaz-hails-us-trade-deal-as-major-win","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.peakpoint.pk\/en\/2025\/08\/02\/gohar-ejaz-hails-us-trade-deal-as-major-win\/","title":{"rendered":"Gohar Ejaz Hails US Trade Deal as Major Win"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Economic Policy &amp; Business Development (EPBD) Chairman Gohar Ejaz termed the trade deal with the United States as a great success, while saying that it would create a competitive environment for Pakistani products.<\/p>\n<p>Ejaz in a message on X stated that the US has reduced the tariff on Pakistan from the initially proposed 29 percent to 19 percent.<\/p>\n<p>This deal is a great opportunity for the country, as Pakistan has been given a 10 percent tariff relief compared to the initially proposed rate and the country should take full advantage from it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe US has imposed higher tariffs on our competing countries\u201d, said Ejaz, adding that he hoped that US will further reduce tariff for Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>He further said that emergency measures should be taken for an export-oriented economy and utilize the opportunity to the full.
