They discussed areas of mutual cooperation and the progress of the Pakistan Mart project, a collaborative venture between DP World and NLC set to showcase and sell Pakistani-made products in one of the world’s leading business hubs.

Speaking at the event, Abdullah Yaqoob expressed optimism about the project, emphasizing its potential to serve not only as a business enterprise but also as a prominent symbol of Pakistan’s identity abroad. He highlighted the vital role a facility like Pakistan Mart can play in Dubai’s bustling economic environment, offering Pakistani goods direct access to regional and international buyers.

DP World Vice Chairman Fakhar Alam underlined the importance of the business community in driving economic development. He noted that while China already operates a Dragon Mart in Dubai and India is investing millions in a similar initiative, Pakistan was able to secure a prime, multi-million dollar plot for Pakistan Mart, thanks to support from Dubai’s ruling family. Fakhar Alam added that Pakistani products would benefit from zero import duty, and a warehouse would be located next to the mart to streamline logistics.

Alam also shared that DP World operates 96 ports globally and employs 180,000 workers, further underscoring the scale and experience backing the project. He called upon Pakistan’s business community to actively participate and capitalize on the opportunities the mart provides.

FPCCI President Atif Ikram Sheikh stated the partnership between NLC and DP World would open new trade avenues in the region.
