A pivotal meeting of the Digital Inclusion Working Group was held at the NCSW Secretariat, bringing together key figures from the country\u2019s digital and telecom sectors to push forward the Digital Gender Inclusion Strategy 2024\u2014a national framework developed with partners including the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, UNESCO Islamabad, GDIP, and the Ministry of IT &#038; Telecom.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting aimed to ensure that all women in Pakistan are equipped with the rights, resources, and opportunities needed to participate and thrive in the digital era. NCSW Chairperson Ms. Ume-Laila Azhar, who addressed participants virtually, emphasized the commission\u2019s commitment to building a digitally inclusive future focused on empowerment, safety, freedom of expression, and dignity for women.<\/p>\n<p>NCSW Secretary Ms. Humaira Zia Mufti led the session and presented a comprehensive three-year roadmap designed to integrate digital access firmly within Pakistan\u2019s broader development plans. Her strategy highlighted several core areas: driving cultural transformation through behavior change campaigns, developing digital content and services tailored for women, implementing inclusive policies and systems, and establishing robust monitoring, evaluation, and advocacy frameworks.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the next steps, NCSW will establish a new Digital Inclusion Cell and form three specialized subcommittees focusing on research, national awareness, and financial inclusion. The initiative also includes the selection of four pilot districts identified by significant digital gender gaps, and the launch of community-based campaigns to encourage behavioral change, in collaboration with a range of national partners.<\/p>\n<p>Both the Chairperson and Secretary of NCSW underscored the urgency of the mission, declaring digital inclusion essential for women\u2019s empowerment and for shaping Pakistan\u2019s future.
