The Parliamentary Caucus on Child Rights has partnered with the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) to address urgent child protection issues in Pakistan, including child trafficking, child labor, begging, and abuse. The collaboration aims to produce a comprehensive report that will inform future policies and legislative action.<\/p>\n
At a meeting held at Parliament House, chaired by Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan, representatives from both the National Assembly and SSDO discussed the growing challenges facing vulnerable children across the country. Participants included officials from the National Assembly Secretariat and a delegation from SSDO led by Syed Kausar Abbas.<\/p>\n
Both sides highlighted the need for a coordinated, evidence-based strategy to tackle the root causes of exploitation and abuse. They agreed to work together on a joint report examining the scale and trends of these issues, as well as identifying gaps in existing policies.<\/p>\n
Dr. Nikhat Shakeel Khan emphasized that child protection is a national priority, underlining the responsibility to ensure that no child in Pakistan is subjected to exploitation.
