The Health Services Academy (HSA)<\/a> has been thrown into a storm of scandal as an all-out war erupts between its former Deputy Director, Dr. Ayesha Khan, and Vice Chancellor Shehzad Ali Khan. Mutual FIRs over car theft, assault, deception, and multi-million rupee embezzlement have not only shaken the institution but also exposed allegations of deep-rooted corruption and abuse of power at the highest levels. Health sector insiders warn that the controversy is damaging HSA\u2019s credibility and demand an immediate Ministry of Health-led inquiry to save the academy from lasting reputational harm.The latest FIR, filed by HSA\u2019s Chief Legal Adviser A Ammar Sehri, accuses Dr. Ayesha Khan of unlawfully retaining a white MG ZS (registration GAK-880 ICT, model 2021) assigned for one-time official use. The complaint claims she refused to return the car despite repeated warnings.<\/p>\n
But Dr. Ayesha\u2019s camp calls this FIR a \u201cretaliatory smear campaign.\u201d They point to official records showing that on July 22 \u2014 19 days before the car theft FIR \u2014 she had already surrendered the vehicle to the Women Police Station Chak Shahzad. That handover came after she filed a criminal complaint against Vice Chancellor Shehzad Ali Khan, accusing him of physically assaulting her on July 17, injuring her face, and deceiving her under the pretext of marriage. She alleges that on the same day, the VC brought the disputed car to her home in an attempt to appease her, before leaving in another vehicle.<\/p>\n
In turn, Shehzad Ali Khan\u2019s allies accuse Dr. Ayesha of misappropriating millions from HSA project funds, blackmailing the VC by filing false corruption cases, and damaging the academy\u2019s reputation to shield her own misconduct. Supporters of Dr. Ayesha insist that she is being targeted for resisting systemic corruption and refusing to cover up financial irregularities.<\/p>\n
This tit-for-tat legal warfare has turned HSA into a battleground, with each side portraying the other as the face of institutional rot. The Ministry of Health has yet to take action against either official, further fuelling speculation of political shielding and favoritism.
Several Health Observers working within HSA told this publication that the scandal is causing \u201cserious operational and reputational damage\u201d to the institution. \u201cThis ugly fight between two of the academy\u2019s most senior figures has tarnished HSA\u2019s image in the health sector. The Ministry must step in immediately and order a transparent inquiry to establish the truth and protect the academy from further disgrace,\u201d one insider said.<\/p>\n
